I have noticed C2C (corner to corner) blankets have become very popular at the moment. I wrote the instructions for a workshop and have decided to share them with you. The extra pictures of work in progress is a blanket being worked from the instructions by my daughter, Louise.
C2C is very easy to learn and grows quickly if you like granny squares this is even easier.
I have also made a blanket based on this square which I called... Coral Blanket
C2C Square
Double
knitting yarn and 4.50 hook
2. Ch.6, turn work 1tr. in 4th ch. from hook, 1tr. in next
2ch., position 1st row so that the last tr. is at the bottom, ss. into 3ch.
space, ch.3, 3tr. in same space
Finish
off 1st colour. Changing colours at the end of the row by working the last pull through of last colour using the next colour
Repeat last row increasing the number of steps on each row until your blanket is the width you want it to be.
Decreasing
row
1ch.,
turn ss. across next 3tr., and ss. into 3ch. space, 3ch., 3tr. in space., ss.
into space 3ch., 3tr. in same space, continue to end of row.
Repeat
this row until you have worked only 1
block
Work in progress blanket...
Please let me know if you manage to follow the pattern and make a blanket.
