Late, late, late for a very important date

Good morning,

I am so sorry I totally forgot that it was Tuesday yesterday, I have been confused for days about what day it was, I think its because we are getting a new bathroom soon.
I can't wait we have been in this house for 30 years and I did not get to choose the colour, it has not been bad but it is so dated now. This is the old blue sink...

I have chosen white and will be getting rid of the carpet and having the pipes all boxed in.....

Well thats the idea, roll on the end of July.
-----------
-----------

We have had a good weather day, so I got out all the new goodies that I showed you last week.

I set up a table outside put on the pans of water to boil

Added some dried marigold flower heads

Added the yarn and bubbled it up for hours

I got quite a pleasing yellow and lemon colour, they are a bit pale, I think that I was too eager to see what had happened.  I can't wait to try again and see if I can get some darker colours.

Phil and I have been busy in the garden this week, when it wasn't miserable weather, we have had some bushes and trees cut down and needed to clear the area, so the roots needed digging out and we have started to replant the area. We have a small slope to the garden so it is difficult to decide what to do with it, I will let you see when we finish in a few weeks.  I am on a mission to get everywhere sorted and cleared, it won't all happen at once, I will get there eventually.

I guess I better get some work done now I have some patterns to type up and my worst nightmare do some ironing and housework.  Happy days.

Talk to you soon

Sorry, long time no blog :-)

Happy Tuesday

Sorry to have been so long in adding to this blog,
I have been very busy over the holidays and we have been away a lot as well.

The last trip was Dubai and Mauritius I did do some crochet while I was there and on the planes, a new doll, pattern and name to follow, I will have to alter her face she looks grumpy in the picture.

I am remaking Christmas snowballs to take to the NEC Birmingham in November for the Hobbycrafts Show, I can't wait to meet everyone again.

The misty foggy mornings are here this week and I don't feel like doing much when it's dark and gloomy, how about you?
Must get on with the jobs, ironing done, washing started and now to crochet, hurrah !!

Introducing Seaton Blanket Crochet Kits

Hello,

I am finally recovered from my horrible cough, which I have had over the past few weeks.  We did have a lovely family holiday at Centre Parcs, where I managed to do a little bit of crocheting and photography amongst all the activities.

Seaton blanket crochet packs are now available on Etsy.  They are £10 plus £3 postage in the UK, but if you live outside the UK and would like one please email me, ali.crafts@ntlworld.com.

The packs are available in three different colour ways. You get 6 balls of Stylecraft Special Yarn plus the free Seaton Blanket pattern.  I have loved making this blanket as it was a very interesting project, starting from a photograph my husband took to choosing the colours.

This is the Seaton Blue colour way.

Choosing different colours ways....

Above is the Seaton pastels colour way.

Above is the Seaton Green colour way.

More patterns available in my Etsy store.

Hope you enjoy,
Alison

Sewing for Pleasure Show 2015

Hello,

We have had a fantastic weekend at the Sewing For Pleasure show at the Birmingham NEC. I love having a stand at this show but it takes a lot of preparation and organisation. I always forget to pack something...this year it was my step stool.

It was lovely to see so many returning costumers from previous years shows and hearing about their completed projects from my patterns.  If you have made any of my patterns I would love to see a photo and if you don't mind put up on my pinterest site.

Getting unpacked....

Stand D22, I was pleased with how colourful the stand was this year....

Wool kits were a very big seller this year.

Thank you,

New pattern tag baby blanket

I have just put a new pdf pattern onto my Etsy shop...Tag Blanket

This is a textured blanket approx. 30cm square. You can add as many tags along the side of the blanket as you want.

I used double knitting yarn, the stripy blanket is Stylecraft Merry go round which is really effective.

There is a choice of eight different tags that you can add to your blanket.

Happy Crocheting, Alison

Octopus

Worked hard today, more sorting yarn and stock taking, made lots of mess.  The only way to do things is empty everything out and put it back the only trouble is it looks tidy but I can't get everything back where it came from.

On the plus side I have finished a small octopus pattern...
